I grew up in a place and time, where cash ruled one’s being. It defined what was possible and what was not. Yet, I never got trapped in the desperate need of having money. I’ve worked to satisfy the somewhat basic demands of life with some occasional “spur of the moment” luxuries. I have worked to enable my choices. I detest waste. Consumptionism and materialism always annoy me. I admire simplicity. I prefer the classic over the trendy, and being mesmerized by anti-aging recipe hidden in minimalism. I value peace above self-inflicted chaos. I value experience above possession. I value being above having.
Being independent is deeply rooted in my identity and my value system. Pride and satisfaction of own efforts amplified by freedom of not owning anything to anyone. To rely on and satisfy no one, but myself.
